About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering cost planning, BOQ preparation, and tender analysis for major building services projects across the UAE. While the role has a primary focus on Mechanical Services, candidates with broader MEP expertise and the ability to measure and quantify both Mechanical and Electrical systems are encouraged to apply.
Reporting directly to the Head of Pre-Contract and the MEP Team Lead, you will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality cost consultancy services across a diverse project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract Cost Planning & Estimating
Prepare detailed cost plans, elemental estimates, and feasibility studies for MEP building services, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and building automation systems.
Develop cost models from concept design through to tender documentation in accordance with NRM 1.
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), schedules of rates, and tender pricing documents in accordance with POMI standards.
Provide accurate and commercially sound cost advice throughout the pre-contract stage.
Tender & Procurement Support
Analyse tender submissions and identify commercial risks, pricing discrepancies, and scope gaps.
Support tender evaluation and procurement processes to ensure best-value outcomes.
Value Engineering & Cost Optimisation
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and design teams to provide cost guidance during design development.
Identify value engineering opportunities that optimise project costs while maintaining performance, quality, and compliance requirements.
Apply sound commercial judgement and knowledge of UAE market conditions to support project decision-making.
Requirements
Minimum 4 years of UAE experience in MEP Quantity Surveying and Cost Management.
Proven experience preparing cost plans and BOQs in accordance with NRM and POMI standards.
Strong understanding of MEP building services systems and UAE construction practices.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
BSc in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
